Becoming Involved With Your School

Parent - Teacher Interviews
Written reports on your child’s progress are sent home twice a year. During Term 1 and again in Term 3 formal parent teacher interviews are held across the whole school. We encourage parents to contact their child’s teacher if they ever have any concerns about their child at home or at school. This can easily be done by phoning the school office and leaving a message for the teacher to arrange a suitable appointment time.

Effective communication between home and school is vital so that we can continue to provide high quality education for all children.

School Learning Support Team
Throughout the school year groups of people involved with individual children at our school meet to plan and discuss these individual children.  These meetings can bring together a lot of people whose focus is on ensuring that the child concerned is making progress at school.  They often involve parents, teachers who are working with the child, both in the school and from other sectors of the Department of Education and Training, the School Counsellor, school executive, school principal and other agencies who might be working with the child. We call these meetings Learning Support Team meetings. They are an important part of how our school operates, based on the belief that if we work together as a team we can get the very best for all children.

 Technology
The school has a five year technology plan to ensure that the most up-to-date technology is available to support student learning. The entire school is networked, with internet access in each classroom. To date six electronic whiteboards have been installed in Years 3-6 classrooms. A computer lab with modern, efficient computers is attached to the Library and the school is continuing to improve on the number of PC's in each classroom, with an average of 2 across K-6 classes.
